MSW is a two year semester scheme Master Degree Programme. It imparts intensive theoretical and practical training for students to work as professionally trained social workers in the area of Human Resource Management, Community Development, Correctional Administration and Medical and psychiatric social work. The course is unique and unmatched in the emphasis it places on practical training. Students attend theory classes four days a week and are placed in various “Agencies” (Government and Non-Governmental Organizations) for practical training (fieldwork) during the remaining two days.
Our Approach towards teaching and evaluation:
Due emphasis is given to field training and the “do it and learn it technique”. Concurrent fieldwork, Summer placement and block fieldwork are all designed to extend practical exposure to the students.
BLOCK PLACEMENT:
An exclusive exposure to the practical field,100 kms away from Mysore for about 6 weeks. |
