The Department of B.T. offers a two-year (4 semester) Master Degree Programme from 2005-2006 and three years B.Sc degree programme with Biotechnology as one of the major subjects from 2002-2003 under the aegis of JSS Mahavidyaapeetha and with the blessings of H.H. Jagadguru Sri Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji. BT is a multi disciplinary subject which underlines the translation of basic biological science through academics and search for Industry and Commerce. The courses imparts professional training to meet the emerging need of research and industry. The Department has two separate laboratries for UG and PG courses along with a common Instrumentation facility.

The department's laboratory is well equiped with a spectrophotometer, High speed refrigerated centrifuge, ELISA reader, Jeldock, PCR machine, flourasent Microscope, Refrigerated Microfuse and Tissue culture laboratries.
