Botany Department was started in the year 1965. The combination first introduced was Botany and Zoology as major subjects and chemistry as minor subject. The Department is very well equipped with laboratory, museum and garden containing so many species of plants which are important for practicals. A shade net nursery, poly house, vermin com post unit, hydropit, drip irrigation units are auxiliary units of this department. The Department is actively engaged in conducting special lecture programmes, seminars, educational tours, cultural activities as part of curricular and extra curricular activities. Now the existing combinations are Botany, Bio-Chemistry and Microbiology (BBM) and Chemistry, Botany & Zoology (CBZ). |
