The Department of Commerce started functioning in the year 1987 by introducing B.Com course. Prof K. Shivamurthy led the Department most effectively for many years in 1979 B.B.M course was added. Over the years a number of faculty members have strived to make the Department academically strong. UGC recognized the strength of the department and give grants for JOC in TPP.
Many students have brought laurels to the department by securing ranks in the University Examinations. A large number of students have been employed as executive in industries and Government Administrations. Many students have become professionals and many are successfully self employed.
For the benefit of students and teacher the department organizes special lecture programs, seminars, Workshop on the current topics. |
