The Department of Physics was established in the year 1965. The Department has spacious and well equipped laboratory. The Department has experienced and dedicated faculty members. Students passing from our college with Physics as one of the options are continuously getting good jobs in Government/Public/Private Enterprises and are spread all over the world.
The department is periodically organising State and National level conferences/workshops. This year the Physics and Electronics departments jointly conducted a national level conference on "Emerging trends in Physics, Electronics and Engineering sciences” (ETPEE - 2006) on 25th and 26th of September 2006 where totally ninety seven papers were presented by researchers in different discipline in three parallel sessions. The conference was inaugurated by eminent scientist Dr.P Balaram - Director Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The proceedings of the conference were published by Allied Publishers, Bangalore.
The department has reviseds exhaustively the Physics syllabus for B.Sc., Courses from the Academic year 2007 - 08 based on the needs of academic institutions, research institutions, industries and others.
The department will continue to emerge itself to further excel in its field in the years to come. |
